Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia): Used for over 2500 years. The Egyptians and Romans used it for perfume, bathing, cooking and as an insect repellent. It has been used throughout the ages to ward off disease, ease headaches and has been used by Royalty all over Europe. It is calming and soothing, helping to relieve tension and insomnia.

Bog Myrtle (Myrica gale): Highlanders have appreciated Bog Myrtle for centuries. It has long been used to flavour beer and has been used in homes, on floors and in beds, to keep away many biting insects, including midges. Out in the countryside and when fishing, a sprig of Bog Myrtle would be placed behind the ears or onto a hat to keep the insects away. The Scottish variety of Bog Myrtle is also believed to possess anti-ageing properties.
